Volunteer Visiting is a support program that matches a VON Volunteer with a senior or an adult with a disability for one-on-one visits in the client’s home.  The in-home visits are regular and may also include enjoyable activities outside of the home.  Activities may include conversation, pleasurable outings, assistance with shopping, encouragement or help with hobbies and interests, activities such as walking and so much more.

VON Coordinators make every effort to match people with similar interests or backgrounds in order to encourage the development of a meaningful friendship. Client preferences are considered as to the age and gender of the potential volunteer.

This program is available in the City of LondonMiddlesex and Elgin Counties.

Why it Matters

The program offers social interaction which provides a sense of connectedness, decreases feelings of loneliness and can also provide relief to the caregiver.
